Drink Wine in Beautiful Places: Dryridge Estate

Live in the Sydney area? Love drinking a beautiful glass of wine with world class views? You think we are about to recommend the Hunter Valley right? Not this time! While the Hunter has proven reasons for its’ popular wine weekend getaway appeal, Dryridge Estate in the Megalong Valley has just stolen the top spot as our favourite winery. Sitting just a 2 hour drive from Sydney, this can either be a day trip or a weekend getaway location. Allow me to show you why this place is worth a visit.

Imagine a wine tasting and cheese platter here:

Wine tastings are available here on the weekends from 11:00 AM and on weekdays by appointment.

How about walking around the estate appreciating vines?

How about the grapes? You cant forget the grapes!

To take your visit to Dryridge up a notch, check to see if there is availability at the  Dryridge Estate Sunrise Lodge or The Homestead. When it comes to accommodation, this place couldn’t get any more ideal! From great tasting wine, to the view from the front porch overlooking the vines and valley, to the well outfitted kitchen and the hospitality of the owners (Emma and Simon), this place has it all going for it.

If you’re looking for other things to do in the area, Euroka Horse Riding is right around the corner and can be booked easily online. If you are up for a scenic walk, the Six Foot Track passes through the Estate and will take you through the bush (dodging kangaroos of course) to a waterfall that sits close by (maybe just ask for directions before heading out). If you’re staying overnight, Blackheath is the nearest town with cafes and local eateries, but make sure you bring food with you so you can enjoy the sun setting and rising, painting the valley and vines all shades of beautiful.

Cheers Dryridge. You are one of a kind!

Lindsay and Nancy
